No right to bear arms, no right to violence | Bangkok Post: opinion

The Feb 17 'show and tell' of seized arms and red shirt suspects was similar to press conference around the time of the red shirt violence in Bangkok, in 2010. Kotee, if he really was involved in previous shootings and instigated violence, must be put on trial and sent to prison. A case against the loser of a political power game should not be used to justify the violence employed by the winner. The right to bear arms does not mean the possession of military hardware or automatic weapons. Third, no government -- democratically elected or a military one -- has the right to bear arms and instigate violence against the people.
